Creative industries are an economic sector that is growing at an average rate of 8% per year worldwide. Currently, the development of creative industries is a priority for over 25 countries around the world that have launched relevant programs and have been monitoring their contribution to the regional economy. In the context of the Russian economy, this industry is still new and little studied. However, its high potential is already obvious.

Creative activities include over 30 different types of activity based on intellectual activities and copyright, such as design, architecture, film, television, animation, advertising, performing and visual arts, fashion, publishing, music, computer graphics, crafts, software development, television, radio, and much more.

The promotion of creative industries in the Russian economy has been gaining popularity year after year over the past 10 years. However, despite the significant creative and intellectual potential, the recognition of human abilities as a full-fledged component of the socioeconomic fostering of regions faces several problems. To solve them, we need to develop new scientific and ideological approaches that are not only relevant to modern realities but also capable of developing in the future.

The international practice shows that creative industries turn out to be less attractive to investors compared to, for example, trade or construction, and therefore require special government support and export stimulation. In Russia, systemic support for creative industries has not yet developed, while global competition for creative specialists and entrepreneurs is growing.
