Points of Contact of Economic Interests of Russia and China

China has been the main trading partner of Russia for many years, following the trend of developing these relations. Last year, the trade between the two countries reached a record high of $190 billion with a yearly rise of 29%. Since the signing of the Joint Statement on a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership entering a new era, bilateral trade has developed at a rapid pace.

The cooperation between the two countries is continuously revealing new growth areas: interaction is growing in such strategically important areas as agriculture, mechanical engineering, machine tool industry, information technology, cross-border e-commerce, and the digital economy.

The cross-border infrastructure aimed at improving freight traffic and trade between Russia and China is being developed.

Most Russian regions and Chinese provinces participate in joint investment projects.

Session participants will discuss issues of regional trade, logistics, as well as investments in port infrastructure in Russian and Chinese regions.
