Sustainable Development and the Green Economy. Export Potential and Drivers of Economic Growth

October 21th
13:30 – 14.15

Hall 1
With the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

In recent decades, there has been a growing demand for natural resources, which justifies the importance of transitioning to a resource-efficient economic model – the circular economy (CE). In the Russian Federation, an industry related to waste management is being formed. The main principles of CE are not only the maximum return of waste to economic circulation but also the reduction of its generation.

Recycling has economic benefits: job creation, stimulation of innovation, cost reduction, as well as potential for exporting raw materials, goods, and technologies.

The focus of the session participants is on the main trends in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the principles of the "green economy," and CE in Russia.
