Export. Career track

October 14th
09:00 - 12:30

Conference Hall 6
The game simulates how companies launch exports to develop a new export market. The participants will split into teams to develop various stages of an export project in order to establish a negotiating position and hold talks with foreign partners. Two companies are seeking to enter the international market. During the game, the participants sequentially perform functional duties in two roles: employees from various departments of the exporting company and members of a delegation sent by the company to conduct negotiations with foreign partners. They work on solving real export-related problems, which allows them to gain practical skills and experience in foreign economic activities.

The first part of the game simulates the various stages of an export project:
• Analysis of foreign markets and the search for buyers
• Development of a concept to position and promote products
• Preparation of a plan to hold negotiations with foreign partners
• Analysis and calculation of delivery logistics and customs procedures
• Calculation of risks and optimization of the cash flow plan for the project

The participants are divided into functional teams at the exporting enterprise: analysts, marketers, logisticians, financiers, and communicators receive basic input data for the simulation – the partner country, the product being exported, preliminary delivery conditions, as well as the basic features of the selected stage. The goal is to examine the export project in detail and determine the company’s position in negotiations.

In the second part of the game, the participants will prepare for and hold trade negotiations with foreign partners (real entrepreneurs) based on the negotiating positions prepared in the first part of the game.

The game enables the participants to immerse themselves in the world of export and international business, learn about the key stages of an export project, from analysing international markets to conducting trade negotiations on exports to a specific country, gain experience and an understanding of what knowledge and expertise a modern foreign economic specialist should have, and determine which areas are most interesting to continue their career development in foreign economic activities.
