Russian business faced new challenges after the termination of previously obtained foreign and international certificates. After several international and foreign certification agencies left the Russian market, it became extremely difficult for Russian companies to extend the validity period and obtain new conformity assessment documents. The time has come to develop a national standard system and expand certification services for exported products.
An alternative to foreign and international standards can be updated and harmonized standards within the national system. Their introduction into Russian certification practice should become a priority for all participants in regulatory activities, as well as business associations, etc. The experience of experts, accumulated during the time when all countries were open, needs to be transferred to a practical level for the implementation of new harmonized standards.
Exporting to the markets of friendly countries should be accompanied by the readiness of Russian certification agencies and testing laboratories to be fully involved in assessing the conformity of products to the requirements of foreign countries. The development of competencies in this area will become a significant encouragement for Russian companies and stimulate the export of Russian goods and services. The international recognition of national standards in industry niches based on private cases and the expansion of country or regional coverage is extremely important.
