Transformation of the World Economy. International Settlements

October 21th

In recent years, Russian business has successfully overcome challenges related to restrictions in financial logistics and the need to build new payment solutions. This is just one visible manifestation of the tectonic shifts occurring today in the global economy. Business restructuring processes will continue regardless of whether the sanctions background intensifies or weakens. Settlements in national currencies and the introduction of new innovative tools (stablecoins, digital currencies) are becoming increasingly relevant. Digital platforms are emerging and actively developing: from logistics systems to new projects in financial infrastructure. Is this a temporary phenomenon caused by high competition, or an irreversible structural change?

For Russian participants in foreign economic activity, the structural changes in the global economy open up both new opportunities and serious challenges. Business needs new risk management strategies and mechanisms to ensure transaction security. Challenges are faced not only by the private sector but also by the state: the emergence of new forms of activity means the need for their regulation and maintaining a balance of private and public interests.
