According to experts, the Russian talent shortage in 2023 is among the most severe challenges for the economy. According to a survey by the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy, the staff shortage in the Russian industry has topped record levels since 1996, amounting to 35% in 2023. Enterprises engaged in foreign economic activities also see a serious shortage of qualified personnel, considering new challenges associated with reorienting its focus to new markets, logistics, and payments. Moreover, business in today’s reality requires specialists capable of performing specific tasks related to foreign economic activities from the first day of their employment. This need is especially relevant for SMEs in regions that do not have the time and resources to train personnel to perform their tasks.
Solving this problem requires an integrated approach and an effective interaction of all the parties concerned, including government agencies, universities, employers, business associations, and a meaningful open dialogue.
