Thanks to the prioritization of markets in the Global South, already 5 out of 6 dollars, or 85% of export revenue, comes from the markets of friendly countries, said Veronika Nikishina, General Director of the Russian Export Center (VEB.RF), at the International Export Forum "Made in Russia."
A key event of the forum was the plenary session titled "The Map of Russian Export: Route Established."
The session opened with a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin. The session featured participation from the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov; Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Anton Alikhanov; Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut; Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, Maxim Oreshkin; Head of Buryatia, Alexey Tsidenov; Governor of Arkhangelsk Oblast, Alexander Tsybulsky; General Director of the State Corporation "Rosatom," Alexey Likhachev; and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation, Mikhail Shvydkoy.
The session covered thematic tracks for the development of Russian exports. The "Industry" track was presented by Alexander Kuchmenko, President of the SibAyK Group; the "IT" track was led by Alexey Kalinin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Aquarius Group; and the "Agricultural Complex" track was presented by Nikolai Semernya, founder of the Belevskaya Pastila Manufactory. Ilya Popov, founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Riki Group, spoke in the "Creative Industries" block, while Eric Monchu Intong, Managing Director of the African Export-Import Bank, participated in the "New Priority Markets" block.
In her speech during the session, General Director of the REC Veronika Nikishina discussed the main growth points within the framework of the new national project.
"This year marks the end of the first cycle of the national project 'International Cooperation and Export.' During this period, a unique global system for supporting and developing exports has been established, and our companies have gained resilience against external shocks. In just 2 years, Russian businesses have made significant progress in prioritizing the markets of the Global South as key partners. Thanks to all the work done, already 5 out of 6 dollars of Russia's export revenue comes from the markets of our key trading partners," Veronika Nikishina stated during the plenary session.
She emphasized that this result was achieved in just 2 years. "83% of our exporters are confidently looking towards developing their exports in remote foreign markets and are ready to compete with global players in complex and very diverse markets," Veronika Nikishina noted.
She added that for the new strategic cycle, the REC, in collaboration with the Government of the Russian Federation, the relevant commission of the State Council, and the business community, has outlined three priority areas of work.
She discussed the priority directions within the structure of the updated national project, as indicated by the President of Russia.
"Firstly, it is the coordination of federal and regional levels to ensure the consolidation of Russian goods and services in new markets, including the Global South," said the General Director of the REC.
Secondly, she noted the formation and development of financial and logistical infrastructure for effective competition in priority markets.
"And finally, establishing a strong system for promoting Russian products, united under the single national brand 'Made in Russia,' will be our focus," Veronika Nikishina concluded.
