Students from Leading Russian Universities in the REC’s Export School negotiating tournament at the Made in Russia Forum

On October 21, Russian Export Center's (VEB Group) Export School held its regular student negotiating tournament at the Made in Russia International Export Forum at Russia National Center. Senior students from leading Russian universities in relevant fields simulated international business negotiations in several languages.
The tournament was supported by the School of Negotiations under the Russian Foreign Trade Academy of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and Moscow Export Center. During the tournament, students from 23 Russian universities formed 37 teams and conducted export-import negotiations in three languages: Russian, English, and Chinese using case studies from real export transactions.
An expert committee assessed each performance and assigned rating points to the teams, based on which the 6 winners were selected.
In addition to the competition, participants also had the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with each other and representatives of the exporting business who attended the tournament as visitors.
“The negotiation process is a critical component of a successful export deal. However, becoming a good negotiator requires practice. At today's tournament, where, with the support of our colleagues from Russian Foreign Trade School of Negotiations, Moscow Export Center, and experts, we have created conditions as close as possible to real business negotiations, the participants performed exceptionally well. I am confident that in the future, they will ensure dozens of successful international deliveries for Russian businesses,” Alisia Nikitina, General Director of the Russian Export Center School of Export.
Following the tournament, all participants were rated and got detailed feedback from the expert committee. The winning teams also received prizes from REC’s Export School.
