On October 21, the National Center "Russia" will host a session titled "Economic Impetus in the CIS. Strengthening Competitive Positions in the Context of Globalization" as part of the International Export Forum "Made in Russia." The discussion will be led by the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group) in partnership with the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM). The session will focus on finding effective solutions for Russian companies in the dynamically developing CIS market.

In recent years, the economies of neighboring countries have experienced significant growth and transformation, particularly noticeable since 2022. This development momentum is reflected in the steady increase in household incomes, improvements in living standards, and significant changes in consumption patterns. At the same time, the investment climate is actively developing, with an increase in the number of major investment projects and a rise in both public and private investment. These developments create favorable conditions for expanding business activities, promoting innovation, and strengthening the entrepreneurial environment.

The markets of the CIS countries were not previously perceived by Russian companies as highly competitive, but recent developments have shown that the situation is becoming more complex and competitive. The region is facing increased pressure from external players, particularly manufacturers from China and the United States, and there is also a growing focus on developing domestic production capacities. This requires Russian companies to adopt new approaches and adapt quickly to changing conditions.

"The session is intended to become a platform for developing joint solutions, sharing experience, and identifying new vectors for expanding the use of Russian technologies and products in the CIS. Leading experts, representatives of partner countries, and the business community are invited to participate in the discussion, whose experience and knowledge will help form effective strategies for strengthening economic mutually beneficial ties and implementing joint projects," said Mark Murashko, Managing Director of the RCE Product Office.

The participants of the discussion will consider aspects of strengthening economic cooperation between Russia and neighboring countries:
  • What steps should be taken to preserve and increase the competitiveness of Russian technologies, goods, and services in the markets of neighboring countries?
  • What strategies and mechanisms for supporting economic growth in the CIS countries will be most effective in the current circumstances?
